A: Comfortable clothes and walking shoes for all Salt Spring Island tours, and hiking clothes and hiking boots for hiking packages.
Please bring your own water bottle – we do provide bottled water as a courtesy, but in the interest of reducing waste, and hygiene, bring your own if you can.
You should also bring Canadian cash for purchases, especially for the Salt Spring Market. You may also want to bring a hat, sunscreen, your camera, and a day bag for carrying any personal items.
A: No. Our focus is getting to you to the food and drinks! We let the gourmet experts on Salt Spring Island do what they do best. Wine, Beer, Cheese, and Desert tastings are often a free service of the vineyards, breweries and studios we visit. There are also many opportunities to sample food and treats at the Salt Spring Market.
A: Most of our tours do not require much physical fitness, but we usually do one or short two forest trails. We will be getting in and out of the passenger van frequently, and visiting numerous businesses, so if someone in your party has mobility issues, please contact us to determine if it is going to be appropriate. There is no obligation whatsoever to engage in any activity you feel uncomfortable doing, and our guides will explain each activity before we begin. Our hiking packages, such as our Activity and Adventure Tours offer a range of options for different fitness levels, from light-moderate, to challenging.
A: Generally speaking, our tours are appropriate for children ages 6+. Activities such as wine tasting and beer tasting are limited to adults, as alcohol consumption is prohibited in the Province of British Columbia for minors under 19 years of age.
A: We offer a full refund if you cancel your booking by email 72 hours or more prior to the start of the tour. Unfortunately we cannot offer any refund with less than 72 hours before the tour begins.
For charter bookings, a non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date.
A: Our summers are typically very sunny, but rain does happen (especially in the off-season) – rain does not usually pose a problem for our tours. You will stay warm and dry in our tour van, and most of our stops are indoors. In a light rain, we will probably still do a stroll though the forest or get out to scenic viewpoint, so please check the forecast (or call us) so that you can bring appropriate clothing. We have a range of alternate options available for rainy days that will still allow you to get the most out of your Salt Spring experience..
A: Absolutely. We are fully insured with both commercial vehicle insurance and general commercial liability. Guests will be asked to sign a liability waiver form prior to engaging in any physical activity such as trail walks and hikes.
